Welcome to Second Grade!

Dear Second Grade Families,

Welcome to second grade! I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning and discovery.

Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 30th.

You may be wondering what your child may need for the first day of school. Although we will be sharing most of our classroom supplies, there are a few things that I would like each student to have. 

1. one sturdy two-pocket folder  

This will be used to transport homework and notes to and from school.

2. earbuds or headphones  in a labeled ziplock bag

We will need these for work on our computers and iPads.

3. soft pencil pouch

No pencil boxes, please.

4. a summer photo of your child 

This will be used for a fun writing activity during the first week of school.

I ask that you please have your child leave any special school supplies (Sharpies, pencil sharpeners, erasers) at home to help with homework and at-home projects. If we need anything special throughout the school year, I will let you know! Thank you.

Please encourage your child to read each day to help prepare for nightly reading in second grade.
